upper parts of the body. It's characteristic of
acne, a common skin condition among adolescents.
Cause ::
Interplay of genetic, hormonal and bacterial factors.
Symptoms ::
Whiteheads. Dirt collects in them as also lipid
bacterial and epithelial debris. Oily skins are
more susceptible. Prominence in mid-face. Faint
odor in extreme case. Can be aggravated by emotional
stress, sweating or a premenstrual flare up in
women.
Management ::
Avoid chocolates, fried food, colas
and milk products. Maintain skin hygiene. Wash
twice a day with a cleansing soap and an abrasive
sponge. Avoid oil based cosmetics and creams.
Benzoyl Peroxide preparations and vitamin A acid
force blackheads out. Strictly avoid squeezing

an attentive listening to be part of the psychological
treatment. For drugs and surgical treatment options,
consult your doctor.
