Cough.
The worst thing
you can do when you have Bronchitis.
|
When you're down with bronchitis try suppressing
your cough for it can further irritate the already
inflamed trachea and bronchi (air passages). This
inflamation is brought about by viruses, bacteria
and mycoplasma (the same ones that give you a
cold) Common among people exposed to dusty surroundings.
Especially women and those over the age of 40.
Signs and symptoms ::
Fever. Chest aches. Shortness of breath.
Flecks of blood in sputum. Headache and sore muscles
(not always).
Treatment ::
Steam inhalations, bronchodilators and expectorants
will usually releive the symptoms. In extreme
cases chemotherapy may be needed (depending on
the sensitivity of the infecting organisms). Have
plenty of fluids, diluted vegetables juices and
soups. Stay in a warm, humid environment.
Whenever you have an attack of bronchitis, check
with your doctor for the underlying cause.
