We are the ones who need to be cured of our misconceptions. An epileptic seizure is just an electrical discharge from a few injured brain cells, which in most cases, lasts for less than half a minute.

Cause ::
Scars from stroke/trauma/infections like encephalitis, meningitis, pre-perinatal cerebral injuries, brian malformations. Could also be hereditary.

Symptoms ::
Range from a brief blank stare to convulsions. Contractions of one side of the face, gurgling noises, hypersalivation. Inability to speak. Impairment of consciousness. Amnesia about the event. Automatisms like clapping,lip & tongue smacking, etc .Feeling of electricity, coldness, rigidity, tingling of tongue, loss of awareness of part of body, visual hallucinations like bright lights, sparks, balls of fire, brief feeling of fear and anxiety.

Treatment ::
Understand the patient's problems. Provide support.
