ANVISA ::
The Brazilian Sanitary Surveillance Agency accredited Torrent Research Center with ANVISA (Agencia Nacional de Vigilancia Sanitaria) in May 2003, authorizing Torrent Research Center for conducting Bioequivalence Studies. This authorization is based on the technical, structural and operational capabilities of TRC.
The accreditation makes Torrent Research Center globally competitive for developing safe and effective therapeutic options for unmet medical needs. Torrent Pharma is one of the other large pharmaceuticals companies to have this prestigious recognition.
With this the Torrent Research Center is ready to meet long term commitments by focusing on value added generics and shifting to regulated markets.
OECD - Research Certification
to the Torrent Research Centre ::
Since August 2000, the Research Centre has been certified to operate in compliance with the OECD Good Laboratory Practice principles by the GLP compliance Monitoring Unit of the Inspectorate for Health Protection, Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport of the Netherlands.
The test facilities like Preclinical Safety Evaluation, Analytical Development and Formulation Development were the subjects of this assessment. The certification confirms that Torrent's test facilities are currently operating in compliance with the OECD-GLP Principles. The Principles of GLP have been developed to promote the quality and validity of test data used for determining the safety of chemicals and pharmaceuticals. Torrent, as of to day is the first Pharmaceuticals organization which has been awarded this certification and it reflects its commitment to quality an essential attribute in all aspects.
With this certification, all the toxicology studies carried out by the Torrent Research Centre would have acceptance in all the OECD countries for regulatory purposes.
NABL - Research Certification
to the Torrent Research Centre ::
Analytical Development Laboratory at Torrent
Research Centre has recently (August 2002) been
accredited with the standard ISO/IEC 17025:1999
for its facilities by National Accreditation Board
for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL),
an autonomous body under the aegis of Department
of Science & Technology, Govt.of India.
NABL is a signatory to ILAC (International Laboratory
Accreditation Cooperation) arrangements as well
as APLAC (Asia Pacific Laboratory Accreditation
Cooperation) Mutual Recognition Arrangements (MRA),
is based on mutual evaluation and acceptance of
other MRA partner laboratory accreditation systems.
Such International arrangements would facilitate
acceptance of testing and calibration of Analytical
Development Laboratory of Torrent Research Centre
between countries to which MRA partners represent.
