Global Certifications ::

ANVISA ::

The Brazilian Sanitary Surveillance Agency accredited Torrent R&D Center with ANVISA (Agencia Nacional de Vigilancia Sanitaria) in May 2003, authorizing Torrent R&D Center for conducting Bioequivalence Studies. This authorization is based on the technical, structural and operational capabilities of Torrent R&D Center.

The accreditation makes Torrent R&D Center globally competitive for developing safe and effective therapeutic options for unmet medical needs. Torrent Pharma is one of the other large pharmaceuticals companies to have this prestigious recognition.

With this the Torrent R&D Center is ready to meet long term commitments by focusing on value added generics and shifting to regulated markets.

OECD - Research Certification ::

Since August 2000, the our R&D Center has been certified to operate in compliance with the OECD Good Laboratory Practice principles by the GLP compliance Monitoring Unit of the Inspectorate for Health Protection, Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport of the Netherlands.

The test facilities like Preclinical Safety Evaluation, Analytical Development and Formulation Development were the subjects of this assessment. The certification confirms that Torrent's test facilities are currently operating in compliance with the OECD-GLP Principles. The Principles of GLP have been developed to promote the quality and validity of test data used for determining the safety of chemicals and pharmaceuticals.

With this certification, all the toxicology studies carried out by the Torrent R&D Center would have acceptance in all the OECD countries for regulatory purposes.
