Sri Lanka: Torrent's consistently strong sales growth over the past decade displays the confidence of medical fraternity and the customers in the Torrent brand.
With over 60 products in the market and another 30 in the pipeline, Torrent remains committed to bringing a wide range of products to the Sri Lankan market. In its endeavor to bring innovative products, Torrent introduced Valparin Syrup for childhood epilepsy in Sri Lanka. Abiding by its tradition of being the First to market "Branded Generics", Torrent introduced "Nexpro" (Esomeprazole) in June 2004. Another two products will soon join to the above list in the near future. After the recent recruitments, the Torrent team has doubled its strength to 20 Medical representatives who cover the entire Island. Torrent is well known in the island for its Neuro Psychiatry, Cardio Vascular and gastro range. Torrent's products like Valparin and Esperal are brand leaders in anti- epileptic and anti alcoholic range respectively.
For the year 2001-02, on the basis of Quality and Commitment to delivery schedules, The State Pharmaceutical Corporation (SPC) selected Torrent Pharmaceutical as the "Best Supplier". Torrent has seen strong growths in the tender market as well.
Vietnam: Vietnam is a major market in the South East Asian sector, being explored by Torrent. Currently, 64 products are registered with another 23 in the pipeline.
Torrent started its operations in Vietnam, in the year 1996, with its representative office in Ho Chi Minh City, the commercial capital of Vietnam.
Torrent in Vietnam now has a mixed basket of products, with a focus on brand building to ensure long term business & growth. In continuation of its Indian tradition, Torrent has earned a distinct image for itself in the field of Cardiology & Neuropsychiatry in Vietnam also. The leading brands in these therapeutics areas include Amlocor, Toraass, Valparin, Respidon & Carbatol.
In Cardiovascular care, we made the history by launching Nicorandil (NIKORAN), which is not just the new molecule but an altogether new class of drug in VN. Launching new molecules used to be the prerogative of originators from west; in that context this was a path -breaking launch.
Torrent is now having a dedicated field force of 25 people to market its products & a distribution network comprising of more than 10 distribution companies, with their own field forces to complement the marketing efforts of Torrents core team.
By the year 2006-07, Torrent is all set to be amongst the top 3 Indian companies operating in VN.

Myanmar: Torrent Pharma initiated its marketing operations in Myanmar in 1995. It has 44 products registered in the country with another 18 in the pipeline. The registered products are distributed all over the country by two distributors.
With strong product portfolio in Cardiovasculars and decent presence in Neuro psychotics, Torrent is poised to create a specialty product platform together with products in pipeline. Calcigard, Ranitin and Lamitor are already the top market grosser.
With a Country Manager (and 10 Med. Reps) placed in Myanmar since Jan 04, focus is on strengthening the product promotion, creating brand equity and launching new market need molecules .

Philippines: Torrent’s first subsidiary in Asia has been in Philippines considering the marketing opportunities available in this densely populated island. This has been a deliberate move from the regular trading style to a more market savvy orientation in order to systematize the whole operation, giving more opportunities for brand building and market penetration.
