Research Alliance with AstraZeneca :

Torrent has signed a research collaboration agreement with AstraZeneca, aimed at discovering a novel drug candidate for the treatment of hypertension. Torrent and AstraZeneca would jointly fund the research project in equal proportion. The agreement envisages success-based R&D milestone payments to Torrent, and also royalties based on the commercialization of the drug candidate. Torrent Pharma would also get co-marketing rights of the products for its home market, India.

AGE Breaker Compound :

Torrent Pharmaceuticals Ltd. discovered and patented the AGE (Advanced Glycosylation End-products) breaker compound. The AGE Breaker compound has potential in the treatment of heart disease and diabetes related vascular complications.
