Ameera Shah is the Promoter and Executive Chairperson of Metropolis Healthcare Limited, which she has transformed from a doctor-led practice into the second-largest diagnostic chain across India and Africa. Metropolis is the most respected scientific brand in diagnostics, operating in over 750 towns in India, trusted by doctors and serving tens of millions of patients each year. Over the past two decades, she has driven the company’s remarkable growth and corporate evolution, including raising three rounds of private equity funding and successfully taking Metropolis public in 2019, delivering industry-leading performance and strong returns for investors.

Ameera's achievements have been widely recognized through numerous awards and speaking invitations. She received the Ernst & Young ‘Entrepreneur of the Year’ Award in Healthcare in 2021. She is one of only three women to have received this award in the past 20 years and is the youngest woman ever to receive it. She has also been named one of ‘Asia’s Power Businesswomen’ by Forbes Asia and included among the ‘Fifty Most Powerful Women in Business’ by both Fortune India and Business Today.

Ameera Shah is a finance graduate from the University of Texas at Austin and an alumna of the Harvard Business School’s Owner/President Management Program (OPM). She serves on the boards of several leading companies, including Torrent Pharmaceuticals and ACC Limited (part of the Adani Group), and is a global advisor to prestigious universities and corporations. She has also held key leadership roles in several industry bodies, including having served as the youngest woman President of NATHealth (Healthcare Federation of India) last year, the apex organization driving healthcare policy and reforms in the country.

She is also the Co-founder and Chair of Women’s Entrepreneurship at the Udaiti Foundation, a nonprofit focused on unlocking women’s economic power in India through data-led policy, ecosystem partnerships, and enterprise solutions.
